ReWET Signs MoU with DNCC to Restore Urban Wetlands

The ReWET project has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), marking a significant step towards restoring urban wetlands and promoting sustainable lake management in Dhaka.

Through this partnership, ReWET and DNCC will collaborate on restoring the ecological health of urban lakes and water bodies, starting with the Gulshan-Banani-Korail lake area. The agreement focuses on promoting nature-based solutions, agroecological practices, and community stewardship to build a pollution-free, climate-resilient urban environment.

DNCC’s commitment to cleaner, greener urban spaces aligns closely with ReWET’s objectives of community-led wetland restoration. This MoU opens pathways for joint initiatives, regular monitoring, and participatory planning to ensure long-term ecological and social benefits for city dwellers.

ReWET is proud to partner with DNCC in creating a healthier, more livable Dhaka.
