ReWET Safeguarding Training Program
On August 14, 2025, we organized a vital Safeguarding Training session under the ReWET Project, funded by UK FCDO and managed by IIED; the training was organized by RDRC and facilitated by YouthNet. The session brought together diverse participants, including local facilitators, partner staff, and community representatives—with one goal: to ensure safety, dignity, and inclusion in all project activities. The training session was conducted by Sumaiya Binte Selim/ICCCAD (International Center for Climate Change and Development).
Through engaging group discussions, real-life case studies, and practical exercises, participants explored key topics such as
• Core safeguarding principles: respect, equity, transparency and accountability
• Identifying and managing risks in field-level work
• Reporting mechanisms and ethical responsibilities
• Preventing sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEAH)
• Power dynamics and respectful conduct in community engagement
The training created a safe and interactive space where everyone could reflect, ask questions, and share experiences. It emphasized not just policy understanding but also how to apply safeguarding in everyday work, especially in high-risk environments.
We are proud to build a network of empowered community people who are aware, alert, and ready to act. Safeguarding is not just a one-time training; it's a shared responsibility and an ongoing commitment.
