Agro-ecological Toolkit Review Session with Community – 01

On 23 August, under the ReWET Project, implemented by River and Delta Research Centre (RDRC); the ongoing development of an agro-ecological toolkit, a community review session was held on-site at the Korail lakeside. The objective was to engage local stakeholders in discussions around ecological plantation and waste management initiatives planned for the area.

The session brought together local leaders, mentors, farmers from the Nogor Abad and the local community. Through open dialogue, the facilitators aimed to understand the community’s perspectives, gather feedback on the proposed plantation strategies, and explore practical ways for local implementation and ownership.

The discussion on agro-ecological plantation was led by two BUET faculty members: Alia Shahed and Ahammad-Al-Muhaymin. The segment on waste management was conducted by Fahim Uddin from the organization Garbage Man.

This collaborative review marks the first step in co-creating sustainable, community-led solutions that align with the ecological goals of the ReWET project.
